Project Life 2012 - Finally!

Happy almost Friday everyone! It is Thursday evening and here in my craft room trying to organize my projects. I just received my latest Two Peas items I ordered last week. For those of you who are not familiar with Two Peas, it is the BEST online scrapbooking supply store. I also love Simon Says Stamp!
I bought the newest October Afternoon collection "9 to 5" as well as others I don't have yet such as "Sidewalks". I also purchased other paper collections I had wanted, such as PB&J from Basic Grey and Heidi Swapp's "Sugar Chic".

Anyway, I finally started on my Project Life this past weekend. For those of you that don't know what Project Life is - it is from the creative mind of Beck Higgins. She came up with a way to make scrapbooking much more simple. If you want to learn more, I invite you to visit her website. Just click on the Project Life icon/blinkie on my website to whisk you away to the world of Project Life and Becky Higgins!

Project Life is setup to document the events in your life on a weekly basis. As a full time physician with a full time schedule, that is IMPOSSIBLE!  :(
So instead I am doing more of a month to month scrapbook. The beauty about Project Life is that it is your story and you make the rules :)

It is also very hard to get your hands on most Project Life products at Becky's amazon.com store. Most products are out of stock. I got lucky and was able to purchase the black signature binder, photo pocket pages, and the Cobalt core kit. I really wanted Clementine but no such luck. I believe they are getting ready to restock all the collections soon as well as new ones. My husband just bought me the 12 x 12 page protectors on amazon.com so that I can also continue to do some full layouts.

I really enjoyed putting my starter page together. Project Life is meant to keep scrapbooking simple and easy to keep up with. Keeping that in mind though, I think most of us who scrapbook can't get away from using embellishments. I tried to keep mine as simple as I could with some embellishments. What I love about Project Life is it allows me to use my paper collections and stamps to make my own journal cards and background cards. Again you make the rules....it is YOUR album, YOUR story.

Here are the pictures of my first page:

One of the first events I documented in May using my new Canon dSLR camera was the Pan family's annual crawfish boil.
Living in Texas near the gulf and Louisiana, crawfish boils are a must :)
My favorite pic is of the one of the crawfish pan and how I captured the steam coming off the crawfish.
My husband Terry really loves the mixture of crawfish and a good beer. He loves going over to the Pan household but mostly to talk sports with Andy as they are both NY Mets fans :)
He is always the first to ask about the Pan's crawfish boil come springtime.

Well I only have 2 pages done so far :)  Need to finish off May and start taking pictures in June!

Have a great Friday everyone! I am on call this weekend so will be staying home this weekend, mostly in my craft room. Will try to get a card project done this weekend after catching up on some work.
