Birthday Card and another Stampin' Up party

Hi Everyone! Having a great weekend so far? Mine has been GREAT!  I worked yesterday from 8am to noon and then met my friend Amie for lunch at a great little place called Nonnie's in Tomball. Shared a chicken salad sandwich and then followed it with peach cobbler a la mode - so yummy.
Afterwards we headed to our 2nd Stampin' Up party for some more card making fun with Elizabeth and Barbara.
This time we even had our own embroidered name tags which were made by Elizabeth. She is so talented and had 5 new projects for us to work on. I will post some pictures at the end of this blog post.

This morning I realized that my favorite Tia/Aunt in the world had a birthday this past week - Yikes! Of course, I am the worst when it comes to remembering birthdays. I sometimes even forget my own :)

My Tia Tina is like my second mother and I adore her! She always has had such love to give and has always been there for me no matter what.

I wanted to make her a pretty feminine card for her birthday and plan to mail it off asap!

I just received Bazzill's Miss Teagen Sue 6x6 paper pack from Simon says Stamp a few weeks ago which I have been wanting to use on a card. I really like the color combination in this collection including the grey, orange and fuschia colors.

I wanted to use some stamping as well but since the patterned paper is so pretty, decided to die cut instead using the papers.

Here is a picture of my finished card:

I was going to use Papertrey Ink's Heart 2 Heart #2 stamp set that includes balloons but instead decided to use the die and made my own balloons out of the paper. I adhered them with foam dots to make them stand out more.

The birthday sentiment is from a new Hero Art's stamp set called It's Your Day....

I know she is going to really enjoy this card as she is one of my biggest fans! Feliz Cumpleanos Tia!!

Here are some pics showing the Stampin' Up cards that I made yesterday:

We made several other projects but showing you 2 of my favorites from yesterday. Elizabeth is so talented and these cards are her own creation. It was fun learning how to use your stamps in different ways.

Afterwards, I placed my first Stampin' Up order which was a BIGGIE :)
Excited to use their products! I have been wanting to use their stamp pads which work really well. They stamp set well and dry fast.

Stampin' Up is only rubber stamps but now they have the option on about 90% of their stamp sets to get them unmounted. Just mount them on a clear block and stamp away.

Thanks for stopping by this week and I hope you enjoyed this week's card.

Will be back next Sunday with another P&P Creations project.

December Daily Finished! Christmas Day 12x12 Layouts

Hi Everyone! Having a good weekend so far? This weekend has been lovely here in Houston! The rain and freezing temps have gone for now and the sun has been shining. Yesterday was a beautiful day! Too bad I spent 5 hours at the hair salon yesterday :(
Well at least my hair looks great with the keratin treatment I had done.

Anyway, I finally finished the December Daily section of my Project Life album for 2012. I wanted to do a 12 x 12 layout for my December 25th page and I actually ended up with 2 layouts.
I completed these yesterday evening.

I am very proud of myself for keeping up with my December Daily. My 2012 album is not complete yet as I still have to do Sept - Nov pages but my December Daily is complete! :)
Another accomplishment is that I finally also finished my 2011 album. 2011 is the year I actually started scrapbooking, so it only took almost 2 years to complete that album :)

My scrapbooking is now more of a hybrid scrapbook. I am doing Project Life layouts but also doing 12 x 12 layouts for the album.
There is no wrong way to scrapbook which is a great thing about this hobby!

So onto this week's project pics.....

I used Crate Paper's Sleigh Ride collection which I completely LOVE!! The papers in this collection are just gorgeous! I had used most of them in another section of my December Daily but still had plenty of scrap and whole papers left. I bought the whole collection, so had plenty of embellishments to use up.

Here is the 2nd layout:

One of my favorite papers in this collection this one which is a map of the North Pole. I knew I had to use it as a background paper. I separated the doggie pics and placed them more on the sides to not cover up the middle section. I used different scraps from the collection to layer behind the pictures.
I also did some sewing/stitching on my layout. I only did a single stitch straight line over the bottom of the papers.
If you notice, I also placed a bunch of star shaped bling around the whole page.

I  had a few online purchases come in this week - one from Simon says Stamp and another Becky Higgins/Project Life from Amazon.
Simon Says Stamp was the first to get the Basic Grey True Love paper collection that I have had my eye on over the last 2 months.

Love the papers in this collection! I only bought the 6x6 paper pad since I have enough 12x12 Valentine themed papers that were recently bought. Plus, I think these papers would be better for card making instead of layouts. I can also use them for Project Life as well.
I also bought a few embellishment such as the woven fabric labels and fabric stitched brads to coordinate.

Well I hope you all have a great Sunday and a great week!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this week's projects.
Stay tuned next Sunday for another great project here at P&P Creations :)

Stampin' Up Party cards

Hi again! As I promised, I uploaded pictures of some cards I made yesterday. My friend Amie and I went to our first Stampin' Up Party yesterday afternoon. We had a great time learning about Stampin' Up products including stamps, paper, and ink.

Our host was a lovely lady named Elizabeth and she had a few card projects ready to go for us. It was so cute - she had everything already cut to size. All we had to do was die cut, emboss, stamp and assemble the cards.

These cards we made are Elizabeth's own designs using Stampin' Up products she sells.
I have heard of Stampin' Up inks and I finally had to chance to use them yesterday. They really stamp well and dry quick, which I really like.

Here are the pictures of the cards that I made yesterday:

My favorite was the Get Whale Soon card - it's so CUTE!

The cool thing is that now I have a Valentine's Day card to give the hubby :)  Well, just in case I forget to do one :)

As an extra, I also wanted to show you guys my newest 12 x 12 layout I did this past week. I have not been using my Studio Calico monthly kits over the last 2 months. I just received the January kit but still have not even touched the December kit.
One of my New Year's resolutions is to do more projects with my kits to show on my blog.

Anyway, I started using the November kit this last week to make a layout.

Here is the November Studio Calico kit called Sock Hop:

Here is the add on I also purchased called Penny Loafers:

Here is the layout I created:

This picture was taken at a formal party we attended December of 2011 - at least I thought. I think this actually was in February 2012.

I really like the feathers - there are feather wood veneers and even the vellum paper has a feather print. I did some layering over the bottom of the picture. I really like the combination of the mute colors including the blue gray cardstock and the light brown/tan patterned papers.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this week's blog post. Thanks for stopping by.

Stay tuned next week for another P&P Creations project...see you then!

Hope you all have a great week!

Two Peas in a Bucket and CTMH Haul - last one of 2012

Hi everyone! Having a great weekend so far? Yesterday I attended my first ever Stampin' Up party which was so much fun. Made the cutest cards yesterday. I will take pictures of those and post them here on my blog later today.

I am here today with another video!! Yes, I finally edited my video and ready to post. I meant to do this earlier in the week and post it but had a busy week. This video highlights some purchases I made in late December 2012.

One of them is the Close to my heart (CTMH) Cricut Artiste cartridge set. I really love my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge from 2011 and the Artiste cartridge looks to be another good one. The set also comes with 3 separate clear stamp sets that can be paired with die cuts from the cartridge. Included are 3 sheets of chipboard shapes that match certain size of die cuts as well.

My Two Peas in a Bucket purchase was my largest ever. My video once recorded was a total of 30 minutes!!! Of course it included everything I bought plus all my babbling on the products. I edited the video to only include the newest items at Two Peas in my haul which were all the Valentine themed collections I purchased.

I was able to edit my video down to about 13 minutes. I need to figure out how to showcase more without taking more time :)

I have been wanting to make a haul video for some time. I think that they are very helpful. Sometimes I see a collection online either at Two Peas or Simon Says Stamp and hard to make a decision without seeing all the actual individual papers and/or embellishments. Not the same as when you go to a store and can actually visualize the product. Watching haul videos on You Tube has helped me really see products that I have decided not to give a second look to. It also sometimes shows me products for scrapbooking that I did not even know existed.

Anyway, here is my video. I hope you enjoy!

Please note - I filmed this with my Canon DSLR which does not autofocus so had to stop several times to try to focus in on the products.
I am hoping to buy an actual video camera soon but I am still on the fence.

If I do buy a video camera, I will most likely film more videos. I am thinking of making videos showcasing my monthly Studio Calico kit and then showing the layouts and cards I made with the kits.
Again, still on the fence about it :)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the video.

Happy Birthday Banner and 1st real sewing project

Hi Everyone! Hope you are all having a great weekend so far. Yesterday was very rainy and cold here in the greater Houston area so we spent the whole day indoors. My poor doggies were getting cabin fever :)
It gave me a chance to catch up on some work and get crafty in my studio.
There are several projects I wanted to do this weekend including making a banner for a little girl's birthday. One of our medical assistants at work has admired my banners and asked me to make one for her daughter's upcoming 1st birthday.
I also had the chance to make a small pillow for the basket that our cat, Isabella, likes to sleep in.

This week was a week full of nice surprises in the mail! I received my Cricut Artiste cartridge set from Close to my heart, my Two Peas purchase, and some prints from Shutterfly.

I did film another video with my Canon DSLR camera but still needs editing. I will try to get it up on my blog and You Tube later this week.
I will just post some pics for a sneak peak :)

This is the Cricut Artiste cartridge and set from Close to My Heart (CTMH). This came out back in August/September of 2012.  I had asked Santa for this set for Christmas but I don't think he received my letter :(
So after Christmas, I went online and bought it myself. CTMH came out with a Cricut cartridge in 2011 called Art Philosphy which is GREAT! It has so many basic shapes/die cuts that it is really the only cartridge you need for any project. CTMH also makes their own clear stamps and many of them coordinate with both cartridges.
The set comes with 3 stamp sets and chipboard pieces that coordinate.

For my Two Peas purchase, I bought several Valentine's day collections including Crate Paper, Pink Paislee, and Echo Park. I also bought several other papers and embellishments from older 2012 collections that I will cover a little in my video. This was my biggest Two Peas purchase to date. What sucks is that 4 days later they offered an extra 25% off my purchase! Ugh!! If I would have just waited a little longer :(

Here are some sneak peaks:

Well onto this week's project.....a Happy Birthday banner.  The colors from the invitation are fuchsia, black, white and a zebra print.

I used both the Cricut Art Philosophy and my new Cricut Artiste cartridges with my Cricut Expression 2 for all the banner cuts including the alphabet font.

Here are some pics of the completed banner:

I hope she likes it! I think it came out pretty cute. Happy 1st Birthday Blakeley!!

I found some time yesterday evening to work on my first real sewing project on my new sewing machine.
I have been wanting to make a pillow for the bottom of a basket that our cat likes to sit/sleep in.
I found some quarter squares at Wal-Mart the other day with a cute cat print which I thought was purr-fect :)

It was fairly easy to make but I think next time I make a pillow, I will try to use a zipper on that last side so it can look more professional.
I just used regular Poly-fill for the inside. After adding the stuffing, I closed the pillow with a single stitch over a 5 inch area that I had left open to fill the pillow.

Here is a picture of Isabella's pillow:

This morning we found that Isabella was not too fond of her new pillow as she has now refused to sit in her basket. I think she may need some more time. My husband thinks she maybe only likes to sit on a hard surface.
If she does finally sit on her new pillow then will try to get a picture to show off :)

There have been sneak peaks all over manufacturer's blogs for the upcoming CHA 2013 show. This is where all the crafting world gets together and manufacturers debut their new products/collections coming out. There is one in January and then one in June I believe. The new upcoming collections are for the Spring/Summer seasons.
I have been taking a look at all the sneak peaks and I have to tell you that I will not be able to contain myself! There are several collections that I have my eye on. I already told my husband that I will have to break my promise about not purchasing supplies. He just gave me a blank look and said "I knew it, no worries". I don't think he is too happy about it :)

Well thanks for stopping by and taking a look. I will upload my video as soon as I edit it.

I hope you all have a great Sunday and a great week everyone!
