Project Life May 2012 continued

Hi everyone! I hope you are all enjoying this weekend! I have been pretty busy at work and trying to catch up on work. I had to take a day off this week just to sit at home and finish clinic notes. Friday I had medical conference to attend. So happy though that I could spend time this weekend in my craft room! I meant to post earlier today but my poor Peaches is sick again. She started vomiting this morning after her breakfast and finally stopped early this afternoon. Poor girlie - she has such a sensitive stomach! We think it was the new dentastick snacks we bought the doggies with parsley for fresh breath. She was able to hold down some water a few hours ago. Looks like she is on the road to recovery this afternoon and is sleeping at my feet as I am typing now :)

Well onto my Project Life album and finishing the month of May. For those of you that kind of follow my little blog here, I am not doing a week to week Project Life as that is IMPOSSIBLE with my schedule.
I am trying to remember to snap pictures on a week to week basis but only scrapping month to month and hitting the high points.

I have watched many other blogs and have learned to use my current paper pads and embellishments to make my own Project Life album. This is a great alternative as actual Becky Higgins Project Life products have been sold out for many months now. I know that they are working on reprinting all the collections and should soon be back on Amazon but I really like making my own now.
I have been using my Cricut craft room program to cut out 4x6 and 3x4 squares out of my cardstock.
I also found a picture frame die cut on the Fabulous Finds cartridge that resembles a Polaroid photo frame which are really popular right now.
I cut out some open patterns with my Paper Lace cartridge using kraft cardstock. I have seen similar backgrounds and patterns on Kerri Bradford's store but since I do not have a Silhouette, tried doing something similar using my Cricut machine. I use one of them in my one my layouts that I am showcasing today.

I have been buying more products including word stickers, stamps, label stickers, flair buttons and journaling cards and it is beginning to add up :)
I have seen many You Tube videos and pictures on how other crafters have been organizing and storing their Project Life items. Finally went to Office Depot and Marshalls yesterday and bought some organizers to match my craft room.
Found really good stuff and even found a few My Mind's Eye 6x6 pads and Thickers!

Here are some pictures of my little Project Life area on my desk. I had to move some things and get rid of others but like the end product.

I had the opportunity yesterday to work on the rest of May including my Mother's day breakfast and Terry's law school graduation.

Here are the pictures: Sorry about the shadows but took these pics late at night and I am still kind of an amateur photographer :)

I used My Mind's Eye newest collection "Nostalgia" for filler cards, backgrounds, and to embellish. I have been stocking up on alphabet stickers and used some number stickers for the date on the title card.

I also used some of my new flair buttons to embellish. I posted the links to the etsy stores where I bought the buttons in the 2nd part of my post today, in case you are interested.

The May die cut was made using my Cricut and the cartridge Designer's Calendar.

The top right corner is journaling about the excitement of the week and getting ready for Terry's graduation. He started receiving graduation cards earlier that week from his family and friends. Some even came with money which he really liked :)

In one of 3x4 pockets, you can see my pattern cut out that I made using the Cricut craft room and the Paper Lace cartridge.

Above is the picture I took of my Mother's day breakfast prepared by the hubby. He made me cheesy eggs, bacon and pancakes - yummy!

I used my Dear Lizzy date stamper but did not notice that the year was on 2021 - oops! Just scratched it out and stamped the correct year.
I made some of my own journaling cards. The one above is a plain journaling card that comes in all the Project Life core kits but you can make your own using your stamps. I used Ali Edward's "Hello Routine" stamp set for this one. I actually got the idea from Nicole Mcgouirk's blog http://nicholmagouirk.typepad.com/things_that_really_matter/2012/05/project-life-2012-week-thirteen-custom-stamped-journaling-cards.html

Here is a picture of the evening before the graduation. My brother and his family came into town as well as my sister to join us that weekend. We have such fun when they visit! My niece and nephew are so grown up - I remember when they were babies, so hard to believe that they are so grown up now!

The 2nd page highlights Terry's actual graduation. I bought this dSLR Canon camera in preparation for his graduation but my pictures still turned out terrible. Boy, do I need to work on my photography skills.

I tried to get a picture of his receiving his diploma but my lens was not able to zoom as much as I needed it to.

I used his graduation announcement in the layout as well and worked great as filler cards.

Since I was not able to zoom in as much as I wanted to get the picture of Terry getting his diploma, I cut the picture to fit this photo frame cut out in kraft cardstock.
Sentiment on photo frame is from Ali Edward's "Life right now" stamp set for the month of June.

The "You Did It" is a die cut using my Cricut and the Wild Card #1 cartridge.

I also used one of the new flair buttons I just bought as an embellishment which is very popular right now as well. I have followed several blogs in which they highlight several easy stores. One of them was  www.etsy.com/shop/aflairforbuttons and the other store is www.etsy.com/shop/alifehandmade. These ladies have great little flair buttons to sell and they are all so cute!

I love this pic! Terry with his family and his good friend Brandon. Yes, his father is wearing jeans! I could not believe it but you know what, in the end it was just great that he was there to see his oldest son graduate from law school. I know that he is proud of Terry and was excited to be there.

Me and my family - the latinos always try to dress well :) Love it! I was so happy that they came to Houston to share this day with us.

Hope you all enjoyed my Project Life post! If you have any questions regarding Project Life or on any of the items then just shoot me an email.

I did make some cards this weekend. My sister called me yesterday needing a card ASAP for her friend's 2 year old daughter and for a diaper cake.

Once I have finished the diaper cake, I will post it here on my blog.

My friend Amy has also asked me to help her out and make some diaper wreaths or diaper cupcakes for a class she will be teaching soon. So I have lots of projects to post here on my blog coming up!

My husband's birthday is this week on June 25th! I made his card which I am really excited about as it turned out really cute and I think he will get a big kick out of it.
I will post his card later this week after his birthday.

Thanks again for tuning in and I have a few product hauls coming in this week. I have a BIG Two Peas order that should be here on Tuesday.

I also found UrbanPapercraft.com which has GREAT prices and bought a few things that I have been wanting at a discount price.

Have a wonderful evening everyone!

Ana
