Project Life Album 2012 Update - 12 x 12 layouts

Hi Everyone! Hope you are all having a great weekend. Mine started out awesome on Friday - I was part of the first ever GLF Magazine flash mob in NW Houston at Vintage Park! That was so much fun!
My zumba teacher was in charge and she did an awesome job with the choreography. She made it fun and easy to remember :)
It was so exciting and I am sure there are more to come. Until then, I will continue to Zumba!

Anyway, I know I promised to post my Project Life (PL) February pages this week but this was a CRAZY week for me. I pretty much had something going on every evening this week after work.
I did make a video last weekend showing my February pages using some of the Studio Calico PL February kit - did you guys check it out?
I think I am going to stick to making videos for my Project Life updates. It is a lot easier to show my pages and explain via video.
The biggest problem with my videos is keeping to a shorter time limit :) Still working on it.

For this week's post, I want to share a couple of 12 x 12 layouts that I did yesterday evening for my 2012 Album that I have yet to finish.
I am still trying to work with the pictures that I took on our office cruise last year in September.
And yes, these layouts will be going into my PL album - my album is a mix of the PL photo pages and 12 x 12 layouts.

One of the pictures is from our excursion in Cozumel. The excursion included going to Mayan ruins which I highlighted last month in my Project Life 2012 update. At the end of the excursion was a trip to a private beach called Playa Azul. We were able to get some lunch by the beach and then went for a swim in those beautiful aqua blue crystal clear waters.

The second layout has pictures taken during our putt-putt tournament on the cruise which was so much fun!

For these layouts, I used some patterned papers from the new Glitz Uncharted Waters and the March Studio Calico kit called Neverland. Yes! I finally am starting to use my kits :)

What I ended up doing last week is rummaging through last year's kits and taking out all the embellishments that I can use with my Project Life album pages. I placed them all in a box on my desk in order for easy visualization and access while crafting.
I took all the left over patterned papers from the kits (whole ones and usable scraps) and placed them in a separate folder. I plan to use them in combination with other kits/collections for layouts.

Well onto my layouts......

My background paper was actually created by me and my friend Amie using mists. I was showing her my new Heide Swapp color shine sprays so we decided to use them on cardstock paper. We used the Gold, Tropicana Teal, and Primose colors on white American Crafts textured cardstock. I really liked the design on the paper so I kept it to use on a layout.

Most of the embellishments are from previous Studio Calico kits (enamel dots, puffy stickers, etc) and from the American Crafts shoreline collection.

This sentiment is from the February Ali Edwards/Technique Tuesday stamp set. I thought it pretty much described how we felt that day sitting there.

Here is my 2nd layout:

We had a putt-putt tournament on the last day of our cruise after it was postponed due to rainy weather on our first day at sea. The final round was Brooks vs Andy but to tell you the truth I don't remember who won :)

I did a lot of stitching on this layout and used different colored threads - navy blue, fuschia, and gold metallic.
Embellishments came from both the SC Neverland kit and AC shoreline collection but I also used ones from previous kits and some Studio Calico wood veneers.

I really enjoyed doing these layouts. I wanted to get some photo pages done but only had a few hours yesterday.

For those of you that are interested in Project Life - check out HSN this evening at 11pm. Becky Higgins will be showcasing Project Life for the first time on HSN. They will be selling 2 of her new PL collections, Blush and Jade.
I will be tuning in tonight as I have my eyes set on the Jade collection :)

Now, I want to highlight a couple cards that were made for my birthday 2 weeks ago. These were made by some of my fellow crafty friends.

The first card was given to me by my friend/colleague Amie. Here is a pic.......

She did a great job and I love the colors! She loves to emboss so everytime I see her cards, I want to dust off my cuttlebug and do the same :)

The next card is from my friend Melissa........

I also thought she did a great job. She did some heat embossing which looks great!

Thank you so much ladies! I really loved your birthday cards and they made my day.

Well that is it for this week here at P&P Creations. Thank you all for stopping by again.

Stay tuned next weekend for another project blog post here.

Have a great week!

Project Life Album February Update

Hi Everyone! Happy St. Patrick's Day! I spent most of the day with my colleagues having a great time at the annual North Houston St. Patrick's Day parade. This was our first year ever having a float in the parade. We had so much fun! Very tired but had lots of fun.

I wanted to take pictures of my finished Project Life pages for the month of February but did not have any time today to take pictures......very sorry :(
I did spend some time yesterday making the video showing my pages for my You Tube channel, so I will post it here.

For those of you that follow my blog and do not want to watch my video, I will have the pictures up sometime this week.

My Project Life pages were made using my Studio Calico February Project Life kit and a few other collections.
I also went through my older Studio Calico scrapbook kits and took out embellishments that I can use for my album pages.
I did some stitching as well to add that "special touch".

Here is my recent video for Project Life:

Hope you enjoy and will have the actual layout pictures later this week.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week everyone!

Another crafting haul to share!

Hi Everyone! Can you believe it! I am back as I promised with a new haul video.
I know what you are saying....Ana, are you ever going to stop shopping!?? The answer is yes and I have made multiple promises to my husband which I keep breaking :)

I really can't help it that my favorite names in paper crafting came out with the cutest collections. My problem is that I usually tend to hoard. I have been doing much better and going through my current stash to use on layouts and my Project life album.

I will be working on another video to highlight my February Project Life pages later this week.

So check out my newest haul video - this video showcases new collections from Studio Calico, Amy Tangerine, Dear Lizzy, and Crate Paper.

There will come a time when I will have more time to craft and be able to do more blogposts. My goal is to also include some tutorial videos.
For now, my primary job is being a physician and taking care of my patients.

Thank you again for your support and for following my little bloggy blog!

I will be back this weekend with another project and some Project Life pages.

Back in my Craft Room!

Hi Everyone! I am sorry that I was MIA last weekend but I was at home in the Rio Grande Valley helping my mom with my sister's baby shower.
I really wanted to come home last Sunday and work on a short but quick project but all I wanted to do is lay down after driving for 6 hours straight.

This week has been busy for me. Getting back into the swing of things at work after having a few days off is draining! I also had lots of catching up with work after being in clinic all day.
So this weekend was my time to catch up in my craft room which I was finally able to do yesterday. Yay!!

I started working on my Project Life album for February but not quite done yet. I will show you a few pictures of what I have so far and will make another video showing all the completed pages once I am done.
I have 3 1/2 pages done for February which is pretty good! For January I only had taken enough pics for 2 pocket pages.

I used most of my Studio Calico Project Life kit for February (Front Row) and I will post a video on the contents of the kit here on my blog.

Right now I am on a scrapbooking and Project Life kick! I want to make more cards but hard to squeeze in the time. I am also trying to finish my 2012 Project Life album which I will be doing in the upcoming weeks.

My craft desk is a BIG MESS but I love it! Here are some pics that I took last night:

I have been going through my stash and try to use as much as I can. I have also been including stitching on at least 1-2 cards on each page using my sewing machine.
I will show more specific details in my video later this week.

Now let me show you some the projects that I did for my sister's baby shower. Her colors were "blush and bashful" but really her colors were pink and pink! :)
She fell in love with the cute owl from one of my Cricut cartridges, so for 3 nights all I did back in early February was cut these owls. So her theme for the shower was pink and owls :)

I also made her a deco mesh wreath for the baby shower which she is hoping to use for her hospital door as well.
And of course, one of my famous diaper cakes!

My mom loved my deco mesh wreath so much that she asked me to make one for my grandmother. So off we were to Hobby Lobby the day before the shower.
My grandmother loves the American flag and any decor that goes with the 4th of July, so I decided to make her one using that same theme.

She LOVED it and was very happy to get such a present. My talent for crafting comes from both my grandmothers. One of my grandmothers passed away 12 years ago and she really loved to craft, sew, and knit. My grandma Nena is also a big crafter and always loved doing floral decor including wreaths. When she saw my wreath, she was so happy and proud that she had passed this talent down to her grandchildren.
I LOVE to craft and wish I could it every day but what really makes it worthwhile is when I see people enjoy and appreciate my creations.
My family are my biggest fans and they are always encouraging me to continue with my crafting :)

Well the only thing I have left for today is to include my video showing my Studio Calico Project Life kit for the month of February called Front Row. I filmed this at the beginning of the month after I received it. I never posted it on my You Tube channel as most of my subscribers probably have already seen the kit by the time I received it. So I wanted to show this video mostly for my blog followers who are curious on what the kit actually includes and then later want to see how I used it in my Project Life album.

Will post my video on my Project Life update sometime in the next week here on my blog.

I also have a video that I need to edit and create showing my latest purchase from Two Peas online that includes the newest collections from Amy Tangerine, Dear Lizzy, and the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes collection. This are all gorgeous but my favorite so far is the Maggie Holmes.
I purchased some products from www.allscrapbooksteals.com that included some embelishments from Amy Tangerine and Dear Lizzy that I did not buy at Two Peas. I also purchased some of the papers and embelishments from the Studio Calico Snippets collection.

It has been really hard to control my shopping as there are so many wonderful new collections.

Thanks for stopping by fellow crafters and sorry that I don't actually have a finished project for this week but please tune in later this week for my video on Project Life.

Have a great week everyone!

Project Life Update - 2012 Album

Hi Everyone! I hope you all are having a great weekend. It was another beautiful weather weekend here and spent some time outdoors with the doggies. My husband mulched our backyard landscaping yesterday so our backyard is now back to normal. Now I need for him to work on the front
landscaping :)

I did work yesterday morning in clinic but spent most of the late afternoon/evening in my craft room. I organized the remaining pictures from 2012 which I still need to put in my Project Life 2012 album. Yes, I still have to finish my 2012 album. I was finally done with my 2011 album last month :)
Slowly but surely I will get there.

So I spent yesterday evening making layouts using my pictures from our Carnival cruise in September 2012.
Our clinic closed so that we could all go on a 4 day cruise from Galveston to Cozumel as part of our 10 year anniversary. It was awesome!
There were 2 pictures I knew would need to go on a 12 x 12 layout instead of the divided photo pocket pages.
I was only able to do 2 layouts and 1 whole photo page. I still have several pictures left to use from our cruise trip.

Late last year I bought the American Crafts Shoreline collection when it went on clearance sale at www.scrapbook.steals.com.
I knew I wanted to use this collection for these pictures - I love the colors which include fuschia, orange, yellow and navy blue.

I also used Glitz's new paper line called Uncharted Waters which is GORGEOUS. When I saw this on Two Peas online, I knew I had to get it.

The first 12 x 12 layout is more of an introductory/title page for the month of September.

Check it out:

Once I was done, I really thought it was too yellow but decided to keep it as is. All the patterned papers are from the Shoreline collection. The orange/red tag is from Making Memories which I bought a long time ago. The alphabet Thickers are from the Shoreline collection as well as the small alpha stickers. The Adventure sticker is from Heidi Swapp.

My next layout is done using the Glitz Uncharted Waters paper collection:

I really LOVE how this layout turned out. I finally bought into the mist craze and have been buying some colored mist sprays from Studio Calico (Mr. Huey's) and Heidi Swapp.
For this background, I used a Studio Calico mask which looks like sun rays. The colored mists I used were the Mr. Huey's Lucille and Sherbert colors.

This is a picture of our boat the Carnival Triumph - yes the famous Carnival Triumph. I am very thankful that there were no issues on the boat during our trip.
I took this picture after we docked in Cozumel.

The next few pictures are of another page for my album - for this one I used a divided pocket 12 x 12 page from Becky Higgins.

This first one shows the pictures of Cozumel once we docked and the market area (Puerto Maya).

I used Bazzil's Wayfarer collection including journaling cards and cardstock stickers for this page.
The alphabet stickers are from October Afternoon.

This next page layout highlights our excursion in Cozumel which included a tour of Mayan ruins and stopping at a Tequila factory/distillery on the way.
We were able to taste several tequilas made there including aged tequilas and flavored tequilas. My favorite was the blackberry flavored tequila which I ended up purchasing for that next girls night out :)

I also made a video for my You Tube channel (PandPCreations) which goes into more detail regarding these layouts. So check it out below if you get a chance.  There is even a little extra craft room video surprise at the end :)

Thanks for stopping by and will be back next weekend with a new project here at P&P Creations Blog!

I will be heading home mid week to help my sister prepare for her baby shower this coming weekend. I am planning on making a diaper cake for her baby shower as well as a mesh wreath so will be posting those here on my blog once done.

I hope you all have a great week!

12 x 12 Layout Share

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all having a great weekend so far.

Wow, it has really been a beautiful weather weekend! My husband finally started to weed our backyard landscaping. We need to re-mulch as well but unfortunately our dogs love to eat mulch so we have been waiting until the last minute. In fact, we did not re-mulch our backyard at all last year.

This weekend I have been working on some 12 x 12 layouts using some photographs that I came across in my photo stash.

One of the pictures is one of Terry and I during our Washington DC trip in 2011.

Since Valentine's Day has come and gone, I wanted to use Crate Paper's Fourteen collection on a layout. This collection has the most beautiful papers! If you tune into my blog, I made a video last month showing most of the papers in the collection.

I really like how it turned out. I used some embellishments from Pink Paislee because they worked well with the papers and colors on my layout.

I really liked this wide chevron pattern paper and knew I had to use it as a background paper.
The cardstock arrows are from the Pink Paislee ephemera pack. I used Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic gold glitter Thickers for my title which is just our names.

The hearts are from one of the patterned papers but I cut some of them out and used them for embellishments instead. If you notice, I stitched in the middle of the hearts using a gold metallic thread I found at Joann's - LOVE it!

My next layout is using some pictures I found from Christmas 2010. We actually hosted Christmas that year at our house. Both our families came out that day to open presents.
I decided to go ahead and use them in a layout and add to my 2011 album.

For this layout, I used scraps from Crate Paper's Sleigh Ride collection that I used in my December Daily.

I used kraft paper that is woodgrain embossed from Studio Calico as my background paper.  Crate Paper's Sleigh Ride was another collection with beautiful patterned papers.
Embellishments are from the same collection. I used some Studio Calico wood veneer snowflakes and a Findingnana badge with a camera on it.

Sleigh Ride gold and the Fourteen collection red glitter Thickers were used for the title.

I also did some stitching at the very bottom but messed up a little :) The thread somehow tangled up so had to redo it. I used the gold metallic thread again.

I really like how these layouts turned out. I love that I was able to use more of these collections and use up my stash :)

I recently purchased several new items at the Two Peas in a Bucket online store which I received on Friday. I went ahead and filmed another haul video using my new video camera.
You can check it out at my You Tube channel PandPCreations but I will also link it here on my blog.
It was a long video so had to break it up into 2 parts. It showcases some of the new collections from Echo Park, My Mind's Eye, Studio Calico, and Crate Paper.

There are still several new collections that I am really wanting like the new Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm and the new Amy Tangerine Yes Please collections. Can't wait until they are in stock at Two Peas!

I hope you enjoyed my layouts/projects this week and hopefully I inspired you to keep on scrapbooking or to start a new hobby.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great week!

January Project Life Album Update Video

Hi Everyone! Its been a rainy day today in my neck of the woods but it was nice to sleep in a little. My husband made me migas for breakfast and I had a cup of Starbucks Verona blonde coffee. Very nice relaxing morning for us :)

Well back again with another P&P Creations Video! Yes, you read correctly. I have been wanting to do more videos to use on my blog and on my You Tube channel since my husband bought me a video camera. I have somewhat become an expert on using iMovie so it is easier to edit my videos.
I have been thinking of doing videos of my Project Life (PL) album mostly highlighting my monthly Studio Calico PL kit.
It is already too late to show the January kit as I have used it, so I started this video with what I have left after using the kit.

I still plan on doing more haul/purchase videos and in fact I have 2 packages on their way :)
One of them is a recent Two Peas in a Bucket purchase which has several new collections from My Minds Eye, Crate Paper, and Studio Calico.
The other of course is my monthly Studio Calico (SC) scrapbooking kit and Project Life kit. I also purchased some new embellishments from the new SC lines including Sundrifter and Snippets.

Here is a picture from the Studio Calico website showing the January Project Life kit:

So check out my video and let me know what you think! I know most kit subscribers show their kits on their videos but I also want to show how I used the kit for my Project Life album.

My plan is to make a Project Life album update video once a month. Will see how well I can keep up with it :)

Thanks for stopping by this week here at P&P Creations and I hope you all enjoyed the video!
Let me know if you have any questions regarding the kit or Project Life in general.

Have a great week everyone and keep on CRAFTING!

Happy Birthday Card

Hi Everyone! Back again this week with a new project for P&P Creations.

I just want to start out by saying that it has been a BEAUTIFUL Sunday here in the Spring/Tomball area!
Of course today is Super Bowl Sunday and most of you are probably at a party right now. We are staying home this year and not even hosting a party like we usually do.
The day started off with home made Belgium waffles and Starbucks Verona coffee. Then we took our doggies for a walk which they really enjoyed.
The dogs have been playing around outside most of today especially while my husband was outside grilling some bratwursts. I took some really cute pics for Project Life and to use on Facebook.

Well for this week's project, I wanted to make another card as there are several family members birthdays coming up in the month of February and March.
I am not going to specify on this post who the card is meant for just in case they do check out this blogpost :)

I will say its a masculine card. I really enjoyed making this card as it challenged me to come up with something that was not too feminine.

My card is a standard A2 size (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) and the card base was made with Papertrey Ink cardstock in Enchanted Evening and Kraft. The patterned paper I used is from Crate Paper's Storyteller 6x6 paper pad. I really love these patterns. I should of bought them in 12x12 size but instead bought the small paper pad.

Here is a picture of my card:

I did some stitching around the card and over the top of the banner shape. I really like how the papers look together. The kraft colored tag on the front is from Basic Grey Clippings collection - from their Snippets pad.

The card is not completely finished - I am planning on using October Afternoon's mini market alphabet stickers to spell out the name on top of the kraft tag and stamp the birthday date as well.
I did this just in case the recipient decided to check out my blog :)

Well in other P&P news - my husband bought me a video camera yesterday as an early Valentine's present. Yay!! Now I can film more videos! :)
I already did one with my new camera. I decided to showcase some of the stuff I bought at Stampin' Up which came in this last week.

I am hoping to do more videos now that I actually have a camera so check out my You Tube page. I will also have a link to my videos from my blog.

I have some ideas for videos but do not want to share too much right now, will keep it a surprise :)

So checkout my newest haul video below:

Total video is 15 minutes - I really need to keep it less. Promise to do better for next time :)
Most of it is my rambling and thoughts on my purchase.

Well I hope you all enjoyed my project as well as my newest video.

Stay tuned next week for another project here at P&P Creations!

I hope you all have a great week!

Birthday Card and another Stampin' Up party

Hi Everyone! Having a great weekend so far? Mine has been GREAT!  I worked yesterday from 8am to noon and then met my friend Amie for lunch at a great little place called Nonnie's in Tomball. Shared a chicken salad sandwich and then followed it with peach cobbler a la mode - so yummy.
Afterwards we headed to our 2nd Stampin' Up party for some more card making fun with Elizabeth and Barbara.
This time we even had our own embroidered name tags which were made by Elizabeth. She is so talented and had 5 new projects for us to work on. I will post some pictures at the end of this blog post.

This morning I realized that my favorite Tia/Aunt in the world had a birthday this past week - Yikes! Of course, I am the worst when it comes to remembering birthdays. I sometimes even forget my own :)

My Tia Tina is like my second mother and I adore her! She always has had such love to give and has always been there for me no matter what.

I wanted to make her a pretty feminine card for her birthday and plan to mail it off asap!

I just received Bazzill's Miss Teagen Sue 6x6 paper pack from Simon says Stamp a few weeks ago which I have been wanting to use on a card. I really like the color combination in this collection including the grey, orange and fuschia colors.

I wanted to use some stamping as well but since the patterned paper is so pretty, decided to die cut instead using the papers.

Here is a picture of my finished card:

I was going to use Papertrey Ink's Heart 2 Heart #2 stamp set that includes balloons but instead decided to use the die and made my own balloons out of the paper. I adhered them with foam dots to make them stand out more.

The birthday sentiment is from a new Hero Art's stamp set called It's Your Day....

I know she is going to really enjoy this card as she is one of my biggest fans! Feliz Cumpleanos Tia!!

Here are some pics showing the Stampin' Up cards that I made yesterday:

We made several other projects but showing you 2 of my favorites from yesterday. Elizabeth is so talented and these cards are her own creation. It was fun learning how to use your stamps in different ways.

Afterwards, I placed my first Stampin' Up order which was a BIGGIE :)
Excited to use their products! I have been wanting to use their stamp pads which work really well. They stamp set well and dry fast.

Stampin' Up is only rubber stamps but now they have the option on about 90% of their stamp sets to get them unmounted. Just mount them on a clear block and stamp away.

Thanks for stopping by this week and I hope you enjoyed this week's card.

Will be back next Sunday with another P&P Creations project.

December Daily Finished! Christmas Day 12x12 Layouts

Hi Everyone! Having a good weekend so far? This weekend has been lovely here in Houston! The rain and freezing temps have gone for now and the sun has been shining. Yesterday was a beautiful day! Too bad I spent 5 hours at the hair salon yesterday :(
Well at least my hair looks great with the keratin treatment I had done.

Anyway, I finally finished the December Daily section of my Project Life album for 2012. I wanted to do a 12 x 12 layout for my December 25th page and I actually ended up with 2 layouts.
I completed these yesterday evening.

I am very proud of myself for keeping up with my December Daily. My 2012 album is not complete yet as I still have to do Sept - Nov pages but my December Daily is complete! :)
Another accomplishment is that I finally also finished my 2011 album. 2011 is the year I actually started scrapbooking, so it only took almost 2 years to complete that album :)

My scrapbooking is now more of a hybrid scrapbook. I am doing Project Life layouts but also doing 12 x 12 layouts for the album.
There is no wrong way to scrapbook which is a great thing about this hobby!

So onto this week's project pics.....

I used Crate Paper's Sleigh Ride collection which I completely LOVE!! The papers in this collection are just gorgeous! I had used most of them in another section of my December Daily but still had plenty of scrap and whole papers left. I bought the whole collection, so had plenty of embellishments to use up.

Here is the 2nd layout:

One of my favorite papers in this collection this one which is a map of the North Pole. I knew I had to use it as a background paper. I separated the doggie pics and placed them more on the sides to not cover up the middle section. I used different scraps from the collection to layer behind the pictures.
I also did some sewing/stitching on my layout. I only did a single stitch straight line over the bottom of the papers.
If you notice, I also placed a bunch of star shaped bling around the whole page.

I  had a few online purchases come in this week - one from Simon says Stamp and another Becky Higgins/Project Life from Amazon.
Simon Says Stamp was the first to get the Basic Grey True Love paper collection that I have had my eye on over the last 2 months.

Love the papers in this collection! I only bought the 6x6 paper pad since I have enough 12x12 Valentine themed papers that were recently bought. Plus, I think these papers would be better for card making instead of layouts. I can also use them for Project Life as well.
I also bought a few embellishment such as the woven fabric labels and fabric stitched brads to coordinate.

Well I hope you all have a great Sunday and a great week!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this week's projects.
Stay tuned next Sunday for another great project here at P&P Creations :)
