My husband and I took my family to Perry's Steakhouse in celebration but I think my dad had sticker shock. Oh well....he did not have to pay :)
Anyway, I really did want to work on my Halloween crafts decor and my Project Life album but had no chance to while they were here.
So yesterday after working in the morning, I took a nap and then went straight to my craft room. Oh how I miss you craft room!
I decided to make some cards as my sister requested a Happy Birthday card for her boyfriend back in Miami. This gave me the chance to use some of my new 6 x 6 paper pads.
I used the new Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor patterned paper - it has a very antique gothic look but also has great masculine colors.
Here is a picture of his card:
Love how the color combination turned out! I also love the simplicity of the card.
Card base is made from Papertrey Ink Smokey Shadow cardstock and cut to standard A2 size (4 /14 x 5 1/2).
Instead of using my double ended banner die for my sentiment, I decided to use my October Afternoon mini market alphabet stickers.
The bottom of the card seemed lonely, so added another sentiment using the My Pink Stamper Spanish Sayings clear stamp set. I LOVE this set!
I will mailing this card off to my sister soon for his birthday which is November 11th (Scorpio - yikes!).
My next card is one I just made for fun. I just received Pebbles' Walnut Groove 6 x 6 paper pad in my most recent hauls and wanted to use it for a card.
I did want to make another fall themed card using Close to my Heart clear stamps and my Cricut die cut machine but was too lazy :)
Instead I just opted to use my new Walnut Groove papers.
Here is my other card:
I really love the colors and patterns of this collection. I also bought the accent and phrase stickers to go with the papers.
The banner with sentiment and the daisies are both stickers - I just used my EK success powder tool to undo the glue backing. Then I used dimensional adhesives to adhere to the card. EASY! No need to take out my Cricut after all :)
My poor Cricut - I have been ignoring it. I may want to add a Cricut project at least once a month.
I also have to announce that the card I made for my friend Brooks was featured on Jillibean Soup's blog this past Wednesday.

How exciting! It is nice to get recognized :)
That's it for this week folks! Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed my cards.
I will be back next week with a few more creations - hopefully some Project Life updates. I still have not even been able to use my Studio Calico kit for October which is making me very sad :(
Between work and getting the house done in time for Halloween, I have not had that much time for scrapbooking.
Maybe this week will get better!
Have a great week everyone!
Ana
