12 x 12 Scrapbook Layout - South Texas Indie

Hi everyone!

Ana with P&P Creations here with my project for the week. After finishing my layout earlier this week for the Two Peas in a Bucket sketch challenge, I knew I would want to do another layout for this week.
By the way, I did not win the challenge but at least I am now doing some more scrapbook layouts :)

On my recent trip home to McAllen, my family and I decided to eat at a new local Indian restaurant. It was SOOOO GOOD! I love Indian food and will jump at the chance to eat it anytime I can.
The restaurant is actually owned by a Mexican family but the chef is Indian so the food was pretty authentic in my opinion.

My aunt had never tried Indian food and she loved it. My father eats like a bird and he ended up eating about 2 plates of food! He even had fruit with mango sauce for dessert :)

I like to watch YouTube videos especially paper crafting and haul videos and I am currently subscribed to a few YouTube channels - one of them belong to KraftinKate. On one of her videos she had mentioned using Snapfish for her photos especially since you can make and order collages.
I went ahead and made a few collages on Snapfish which turned out great and could not wait to use one of them for a layout.
One of collages is made with pictures from our Indian restaurant adventure in McAllen.

For inspiration I turned to Studio Calico and their scrapbook kit for July "Elmwood Park". I actually was able to get this kit as there were a few left over at the end of the month so it was shipped along with the August kit.
I just thought that the papers went well with the theme I was going for.

Here is a picture of the Studio Calico July kit:

Here is my 12 x 12 scrapbook layout "South Texas Indie":

I also used a few other embellishments that were not part of the kit but worked well with the overall theme.

I made the picture of my father with the Indian turbine hat the main focus of the collage. For those of you who know my father, the fact that he is wearing the hat is HILARIOUS!
He is a serious guy but he had a good laugh too!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you all have a great week!

Ana
