Graduation Cards May 2012

Have been working on some graduation cards during this month. As most of you know my husband just graduated from Law School (very proud wife!) and came up with a very cute card for him.
One of my favorite stores for paper, stamps, and dies is Papertrey Ink. They really do have some great stamp sets. Their paper is also very good quality and works great when making cards.
I used Papertrey Ink's "Up, Up and Away" stamp set including matching die set to cut out the hot air balloons and cloud for his card.
The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye - Fine and Dandy Boy 6x6 paper pad.

Banner was cut out using Papertrey Ink's double sided banner die out of kraft card stock. Sentiment is from PTI "Everyday Button Bits" stamp set. Dye ink pad is brown sugar from Jenni Bowlin. Right now I am only using Jenni Bowlin ink pads - love them!

I also made 2 other cards for this graduation season. One is for a good friend's daughter and the other card is for my husband' step brother who are both graduating from high school this year.

One card has more of a female theme. I just received Studio Calico's stamp set "Hooray" which includes really cute flags/banners and could not wait to use it. I used October Afternoon's - Fly a Kite patterned papers on this card. The "Dream Big" layered sticker is from Amy Tangerine (American Crafts) - really went well with the patterned paper.

Added small brown colored pearl embellishments on top of stamped banner poles and of course a graduation cap fabric sticker to top it all off.

The male graduation card was hard to come up with but finally received inspiration from my latest Papercrafts magazine May edition. There was a really cute card using Echo Parks "Happy Days" patterned paper which is called Bottle Caps. LOVE this patterned paper - bought it on sale at Two Peas in a Bucket. Just fell in love with the colors of this pattern and thought I would use it eventually on a card for my husband. I actually bought 2 of these and glad I did.
I believe the sticker font letters I used are also Echo Park from "Holly Jolly Christmas" collection.
The fabric sticker on the front actually said "Hats off to the Grad" and changed it to "Caps off to the Grad!". My husband actually suggested it so that it goes with the theme of the bottle caps in the patterned paper. Thanks honey for the input!

Hope you all enjoy the cards! Have a great Memorial Day holiday weekend!
More to come next week.
